WordPress + WooCommerce
LinkLens Comment Spam Guard (Lite)
Lightweight spam protection for WordPress comments and WooCommerce product reviews.
Blocks automated spam and quietly holds suspicious submissions — without adding friction for real visitors.
Note: No spam tool can guarantee 100% blocking. This plugin focuses on stopping most automated spam
while keeping the comment experience smooth for real humans.
Quick heads up: On some heavily cached sites (full-page cache / CDN), comment and review forms can be served from cache.
If a real visitor ever sees a “stale form” message, a refresh usually fixes it. See Troubleshooting.
Quick start
1) Install and activate
Upload the plugin ZIP in WordPress and activate it like any standard plugin.
2) Activate your license
Go to Settings → Comment Spam Guard, enter your purchase code, and click
Verify License. Protection runs only when the license is active.
3) Use comments normally
Real visitors can comment as usual. Spam is blocked automatically.
Some comments may be held for moderation if they look suspicious.
What this plugin protects
WordPress comments
WooCommerce product reviews
This plugin does not protect contact forms, checkout forms, registration forms, or third-party form plugins.
How it works (in plain terms)
Comment Spam Guard quietly checks each comment submission before WordPress saves it.
Most automated spam is blocked instantly. Comments that look questionable are held for moderation
instead of being published automatically.
There are no CAPTCHAs, no challenges, and nothing extra for real visitors to interact with.
If a comment is held, it appears in your normal WordPress moderation queue.
Comments with links
By default, comments that include links are held for moderation.
This helps prevent SEO spam and keeps comment sections clean.
Legitimate link comments are easy to approve from
Comments → Pending in the WordPress admin.
Tip:
Approving legitimate comments helps WordPress learn your community’s normal behavior.
(You’ll usually see fewer holds over time for familiar, trusted commenters.)
Troubleshooting
A comment was blocked
Ask the user to refresh the page and try again
Make sure they didn’t submit instantly after loading the page
Check whether the comment included multiple links
A comment is missing
Check Comments → Pending
Comments with links are often held by design
Approve legitimate comments to reduce future holds
Nothing seems to happen
Confirm the license status is Active
Test from a logged-out or private browser window
Ensure your theme uses the standard WordPress comment form
Caching and comment forms
On some sites, full-page caching or CDN caching can serve a “saved” version of a page that includes an older
comment or review form. When that happens, a real visitor may see a message like “stale form” or “please refresh.”
Have the user refresh the page and try again
If it happens often, exclude pages with comments/reviews from cache
Common examples: blog posts with comments, product pages with reviews
This doesn’t affect most sites, but it can happen on highly cached setups.
Need help or seeing an edge case?
If a legit comment is being held/blocked unexpectedly, or you’re seeing a compatibility issue with your theme, cache, or security stack,
send us a note and we’ll tighten behavior across more real-world environments.
No tool can guarantee that. This plugin is designed to stop most automated spam
and reduce moderation work.
Does it work with WooCommerce reviews?
Yes. WooCommerce reviews use the WordPress comment system.
Does caching affect comment forms?
In rare cases, aggressive full-page caching can cause a visitor to load an older version of a comment or review form.
A quick refresh usually fixes it. If it happens often, exclude comment/review pages from cache.
